The course was well maintained. The grass was in great shape. The rough was brutally punishing to be in. The fairways were soft perfectly cut green carpets. There was very little roll out when you hit the fairway. The course has 27 holes with pristine views; in excellent condition, encouraging golfers to walk. Elbow Springs is laced with white sand bunkers, crystal clear spring-fed water hazards, and rolling terrain. The sand based bentgrass greens are large, well guarded, and provide smooth putting surfaces. These can be demanding to putt on, due to subtle breaks that are often overlooked. It seems to me that all the putting surfaces in Alberta are extremely fast.
The day I played the conditions were excellent, the weather was perfect and I played well.
