GOLF IN BIGFORK MONTANA

Eagle Bend Golf Club is a 27-hole championship course located on the north shore of Flathead Lake. Eagle Bend is Montana’s only golf course to be rated #1 by Golf Digest for six consecutive years and in the top 50 in the United States. William Hull designed and built the original 18 holes. In 1995 “Nicklaus Design” designed and built the “Nicklaus Nine”.

I played all 27 holes, and I played this course because of the reviews.  I have to say that the par 3’s are challenging, but the rest of the course is just a little above average.  The greens are fast and true but for the price there are better courses in the area.   Whitefish lake is one that I think has a better layout with better scenery.  Both courses have manicured fairways with well maintained greens.  There are at least 7 courses in the area of Whitefish that rate as the top 10 in Montana.

I played with a 2 some and occasionally we were joined by a forth as you can see.

Most of the par 3’s were all over 167 yards.  One was 167 from the white tees and the drive from the tee box to the green looked like Lombard Street in San Francisco.
